We Create Display Area and Product Loop Videos

Did you know we create display area and product loop videos?

Last week, we were pleased to make this display area video for the St. Paul’s Wine Fest, which greeted guests as they entered. The video was used to describe the different kinds of wine and beer that were available for guests to sample during the festival. Read on…

Brewing A-Z with Robert Goulet (Karben4)

We received the Canon c300 a few weeks ago in order to put it through its paces. We wanted to see if the camera was all that it was cracked up to be or if we should keep forging ahead with our still prominently used Canon 5D MII. That answer is still pending but what you see before you is the fruit of those labors.

Getting Back to our Roots ie: Harlem Shake vTruck

We started doing video because it was fun and entertaining. Over the years that has changed to working with clients to tell engaging and beautiful stories. The only thing this lacks is our goofiness and our own acting =) We’ve started to get back into that and couldn’t be more excited. We’ve created a new youtube channel for this outlet called The Bit Life Show. The name came while we were working on a tech show pilot. I wanted something that would be a bit techie but also classy. The name helps communicate that what we will do is a bit of many things. The channel and videos will have comedy, technology, special effects, and (hopefully) good storytelling.

The video above is actually our second video. Check out our first video Apple S-Beam.

New Video: Cathedral Parish Welcome

This is a nice green-screen video we did with a Parish about six blocks away from our studio. We wanted a light and bright feel for the interviews so we decided to go with a green-screen and then to replace the background in post. We started with just white but with one of our angles being wide, and showing the subject’s whole body, it didn’t look right. I ended up creating a digital cyc wall in After Effects and using digital lighting to give some depth to the background. Then I manually added shadows. The end result was a nice and bright background that blended well with our subjects.

Here’s a link to the video in our portfolio.

New Video: Year of Faith – Christmas

The Hoeben family describes their excitement and anticipation of Christmas and they ways they identify with Jesus, Mary, and all of those present on that first Christmas night.

This is the 3rd installment of the Year of Faith Series with Fr. Chad and the Diocese of Madison.

Merry Christmas!

New Video: Terri’s Story

Terri tells the story of her non-Catholic upbringing and the chain of events that led her to a retreat and then to baptism and confirmation in the Catholic Church.

This video is part of the “St. Paul Story” series from the St. Paul University Catholic Center in downtown Madison, WI. We shot this footage on a blustery fall day at picnic point on the UW Campus. Not only can Terri tell a great story, she can do so while ignoring brisk wind and cold temperatures!

New Video: Section on Women’s Health Promo

This video was done with the Section on Women’s Health to help raise awareness for Women’s Health physical therapy. The production utilizes our greenscreen at our studio as well as a popup greenscreen used on location in Chicago. This longer version is actually two videos put together for a conference. The first being a short promo used on their website and the second used at promotional events.

New Video: ST. Thomas More Catholic Newman Center Promo

This was created for the St. Thomas More Catholic Newman Center in Mankato MN to help with their building campaign. Currently they have a small story and a half house that they pack to the rafters for even the smallest event. They are looking to build a new building with a chapel and plenty of activity space. The shoot was a blast and we’re happy to be involved with such a great group of people. Big thanks to Kyle Jaeger and the Newman Center Staff in pulling this thing together. Check them out at their website. And if you’d like to donate so they can get the space they need just visit their donation page.

“It’s Summertime” in the Backflip Office

My Brother-In-Law asked me if I would help him create a video for a competition at his office. Of course I agreed to help and after a few evenings here what we came up with. His company, Covidien, is having a competition to bring Summer Sanders to the regions with the best video to raise awareness for venous insufficiency (varicose veins). Consider your awareness raised.

Wednesday night was the 2012 Web Audio Video Excellence (WAVE) award show put on by MCA-I Madison, and we won some awards! The WAVE Awards Show recognizes the best web, audio and video media productions in the Greater Madison area. We helped produce the show by bringing the graphics and awards together into a fun two screen keynote along with a melt reel showcasing every video entered (will update with link when it’s posted).
